ARO 2015 Vert: Australian legends Shane Yost, Iain Smith and more killing it in Brad Watson’s new edit

Shane Yost

You’ll feel like you’re taking a trip back to the golden era of vert rollerblading with this new ARO edit from Brad Watson.

Seeing Shane Yost spin, flip and fly his way to first place is like watching him during his time at the top of the ASA Tour, X-Games and Gravity Games over a decade ago.

A true icon of the rollerblading game, it’s little wonder he came in on top for the second ARO in a row.

Brad himself killed it on his way to second place, with some massive airs and one of the best tricks of the day – a huge backside on the guardrail at the back of the vert ramp with 20 feet of drop behind him (pictured below). Huge!

Iain Smith was also in top form to take out third, with some lofty airs and flips, and stylish and technical grinds.

The edit also features Oliver Czaja, Hayden Golder and more.

A long time in the making, the edit showcases over four minutes of the Sydney shredder’s ballsy yet technical style, including rails, ledges and gaps.

Phil has been riding Remz for years, so it’s great to see he’s found his spot on the team alongside names like Hayden Golder and Rob Kellett.

Circolo have been leading the charge since they launched a few years ago and their latest big wheel is the 72mm Paisley Grey (pictured below).

Aussie legends Hayden Golder and Brad Watson recently put the wheels to the test in one of Melbourne’s bowls and have dropped an edit of all thefun.

As usual with both Golder and Watson, it’s on point.

Presented by 4Sqair Australia, the event was the biggest gathering of bladers in Brisbane anyone has seen in a long time and by all accounts, one of the best days out in Queensland in recent memory.

The Victorian visitors definitely made their presence felt, with Melbourne-based, Danish import Martin Gade taking out the Open Street, while Hayden Golder was on fire to win both the Over-30s and Spine Jam. Nick Thorne took out the Under-18s, while Tommy Scofield‘s huge soyale along the entire rollercoaster to 720 out rightfully earned him the VC Best Trick award.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOcyMUOdl6k”][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]FULL RESULTS

Destroying both street and park from his home base in Melbourne, Gade has fast established himself as one of the best skaters in Australia in recent times.

From taking out first place in the Victorian Inline Titles 2015 and the Australian Rolling Open 2013 (plus third place last year), to shredding every park and rail that Melbourne has to offer, it’s clear this stylish and technical skater is at the top of his game.

If you need any more proof, check out this killer edit filmed across Melbourne and Hobart in the Razors SL2s.

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]Matt Caratelli has just dropped his awesome edit of the 2nd Annual Newport P-Rail Invitational in Melbourne recently.

Less serious than it sounds, as Matt says: “Basically an excuse to get together in the great weather with even better mates and getting some blading done at the same time!”

Judging by the video it was a good turn-out, with a big Melbourne crew making their way down to Newport Skatepark for the day.

Thomas Dalbis took out the first prize of a sweet trophy adorned with a legendary Cozmo wheel, while Hayden Golder was runner up.[/vc_column_text][vc_video title=”Newport P-Rail Invitational 2014: Edit by Matt Caratelli” link=”https://vimeo.com/107211207″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][mk_image_slideshow images=”7734,7735,7733″ image_width=”800″ image_height=”450″ effect=”fade” animation_speed=”700″ slideshow_speed=”7000″ pause_on_hover=”false” smooth_height=”true” direction_nav=”true”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
